Problem:

Most enterprise software requires training—extensive, time intensive training. End users are busy, and often if they aren’t using the software daily, they forget much of what they’ve learned and without retraining, cannot access their information. They revert to their old tools, and this software investment becomes shelfware.

Data is too complex for the average user to easily consume. There are too many rows, too many columns. Often, formatting that data into a report does little to improve the data’s digestibility. Problem:

An end-user without a technical background is given the same software as an end-user with a PhD in computer science. The software is either too hard for one, or too easy for the other. Software is rarely one size fits all.
Between IT and end-users, hundreds of canned reports have been created, but you still can’t find the handful of reports that are essential to your day-to-day needs.

By offering QuickTutors to walk first time users and users with a less-technical background through the application, eThority makes advanced functionality accessible by providing a step-by-step walkthrough of the software and its features. The ability to turn off the Quick Tutor allows users with more technical know-how to jump right in and get to work.

eThority also enables users to save the reports most relevant to them in an easy to access QuickLinks list, akin to “favorites” on an internet browser so that their reports, formatted just the way they want them, are just a click away.

Another way that eThority provides personalization is via drag and drop, pixel-perfect reports. These reports automatically refresh as new data is imported, and allow users to select and organize the elements they wish to display.

Problem:

Instead of carefully selecting which software features should be included on each screen, many software developers place ALL of the features on every screen. The result: feature overwhelm. Users are bombarded with buttons and menus, and unable to interact with the software without training.
