Interactive Reporting Model

Problem:

A traditional reporting model typically involves IT taking the data sets that they feel their end users will want to see, and creating reports to serve their constituents needs. Unfortunately, the report possibilities are endless. Report maintenance becomes a nightmare, and this situation ultimately results in "information collapse."

Data eXtension Architecture

Problem:

In most data warehousing and business intelligence products, an incomplete view of information is provided—it lacks data not tracked in the systems of record, but that is critical to the success of an organization. This results in the creation of “spreadmarts” or “shadow systems” that exist either departmentally, or simply on a single user’s desktop, and presents data quality complications along with security and compliance issues.

Can extend data both “horizontally” by adding columns of information or “vertically” by adding rows
