For eThority, technology is about simplifying the user experience.
“Human beings didn’t evolve over the last 40 years behind the computer,” said Mike Psenka, president and CEO.
Psenka founded eThority in 1991 in his home with the idea of “shaping software solutions that flexed around the user’s work process, not vice versa.”
“Think about if there was walking and jet engines but no automobile, then we came in to provide the automobile,” Psenka said.
First working with higher education and health care markets, Psenka realized the need for this kind of technology spanned various industries and the company has since expanded to serve more markets.
Over the last couple of years, Psenka and the eThority team have been developing a “user-obvious” interface that allows companies to integrate existing software. For example, the accounting, manufacturing and human resources departments would be able to communicate with each other even if they are using different software programs.
eThority’s software is placed over existing software so the various pieces work together.
The idea is that anyone should be able to use a piece of software without having to read a manual the size of a telephone book.
“We’re technologists but we pay homage to the end user,” Psenka said. “We’re providing a different software experience.”
